"Chrome Ritual" begins with just the bass.
No introduction. No announcement. A syncopated slap bass riff walks in at 125 BPM — E minor, unhurried, like it already owns the room. Eight bars of pure low-end intention before the four-on-the-floor kick drops and the world snaps into focus.
Then the muted funk guitar scratches enter — short, percussive, perfectly placed — trading rhythmic punches with the bass like two instruments speaking the same language in different octaves. Bright staccato synth chords fire above the pocket, not held but struck — rhythm disguised as harmony. And then the portamento synth lead bends into its first note, slowly, deliberately, spiraling through an E minor hook so immediately familiar it feels like you've heard it before, even the very first time.
Shaker and tambourine shimmer overhead. The groove locks deeper with every bar. Then the breakdown arrives — the drums fall away, the bass walks alone for four bare, exposed bars, and filtered orchestral pad swells rise like heat off a summer highway — wide, cinematic, turning thirty seconds of silence into the emotional center of the entire track.
The kick returns like a door kicked open. Everything comes back harder, wider, higher. The hook spirals once more — this time unrepeatable, this time final.
It's not a track. It's a ritual. A locked groove that finds your frequency and doesn't let go until the last note evaporates into chrome.
