Almost on Purpose is about falling without believing the fall defines you.
It began as a deeply melodic progressive-house idea, warm analog bass, evolving chords, shimmering arpeggios, spacious pads and a recurring melodic motif. But somewhere along the way, the track found another voice.
Rap entered the story.
A restrained male delivery carries the bruises, uncertainty and reflection, while the female vocal gradually brings melody, openness and light. Rather than simply trading verses, the voices represent different stages of the same emotional journey, from defeat and questioning toward acceptance, resolve and purpose.

The arrangement deliberately keeps evolving. Melodic motifs return in altered forms, harmonies widen, breaks interrupt the expected path, and the track repeatedly falls away before rebuilding itself.
Much like life.
