#devsays - “Reality becomes questionable when imagination starts making more sense.”
A Progressive State of Delusion is a slow descent upward into paranoia, contradiction and beautifully unreliable reality.
Beginning with exposed piano, string hums and an intimate vocal, the track gradually accumulates organic percussion, atmospheric electronics, analog sequences, distant psychedelic guitar, cinematic drums and warm melodic bass.
Nothing simply replaces what came before. The layers remain, collide and converge until the composition itself begins to feel delusional.
Moon lights the day.
The sun dims the night.
Gravity above me.
Sky beneath my feet.
And somewhere between floating, flying, falling and wondering whether any of it is real...
the whole thing becomes strangely euphoric.

PRODUCTION NOTES
The arrangement begins deliberately restrained, allowing piano, strings and vocal space to breathe before rhythmic and harmonic elements progressively accumulate.
Electronic and organic percussion gradually interlock with evolving synth sequences, atmospheric pads, expressive melodic bass and sparse psychedelic guitar.
The guitar remains an atmospheric voice rather than a dominant rock element, using distant sustained notes, gentle bends and long echoes.
The final movement expands through width and layering rather than sheer loudness before Phonk textures and corrupted FX begin destabilizing the accumulated sound.
VOCALS
Smoky female alto/contralto, intimate and slightly throaty.
The performance moves from lucid paranoia into increasingly ethereal, fragmented and psychedelic phrasing, using whispers, ghost doubles and widening harmonies as reality begins to unravel.
STORYLINE
Am I asleep?
Am I real?
Am I weak?
Am I broken?
I float.
I fly.
I drop.
I rise.
Maybe I'm dreaming.
Maybe reality is dreaming me.
And after all that existential nonsense...
It's just me being perfectly stupid.
HA!
